Michael, as I recall from our conversation you had already replaced your assembly as we talked about an exchange. I may be confusing your conversation with another person. However, I would not have told you too bad. I did explain that this is how Apollo uses the same parts for different assemblies, and it can be confusing for people to know to use a 3/4" part for a 1" assembly on an Apollo PVB4A.
Yes, I did tell you I didn't know how to mark that on my website, but have since figured that out thanks to your input.
I also believe that I offered to take the part back but you would pay return shipping and the shipping to you and there would be a restock fee of 10% to cover processing fees. I would never want you to keep a part that couldn't be used, but understand that I can't make sure that customers don't order the wrong parts if we don't talk before ordering and there are costs associated with sales and returns.
For everyone, it is important that you consult the repair and maintenance information sheets to make sure the right parts are ordered. It is not common for a 1" assembly to take a 3/4" part, but somehow you determined the part number and ordered it. If there are ever questions I can always be contacted by phone or email.
